1. What do I need to do before I move?
We, at Trek, usually do the packing for you. If we pack one day before the move, we will ask you to pack some things that you may need overnight, like clothes, some plates, cups etc. We will also advise you to keep things like, keys, important documents (passports, bank cards, files concerning house sale etc.,) safe and aside, in case you might need them. It is also important to make a list of your valuables. Create a “move file” to keep track of estimates, receipts and other important information.
2. What range of removal services do you offer?
Our services ranges from small collections and deliveries between local addresses into storage, to 5+ bedroom house moves and 20+ office staff commercial moves, nationwide and internationally.
3. When, and how do you arrange home visits?
In arranging home visits, we usually ask the details of the removal over the phone or email. However, for properties with 3 bedrooms, or more, we schedule for a site visit so we can send an accurate quote. The site survey visits will be booked according to your availability. Usually we schedule for a morning visit on working days, but sometimes Saturdays, if necessary.
4. How involved are you on the planning process?
One of our specialists will be in contact with you in order to organize the removal. We will make sure that both sides have all the necessary information to make the move go smoothly. Information that will enable us to ensure that you will have, for example, enough boxes, or if you decide to do the packing yourself, we will give you advice on how to do it. It is important for us to know, as well, if we will have a good access, and we need to determine precisely what type of furniture we will be moving. We are, at all time, a phone call away in the event that you have any queries.
5. Can I do my own packing?
Yes you can! But with Trek, we can assure you that we can make it easy for you. Our packing team is highly qualified and efficient when it comes to packing and labeling every box, and is fully aware of safe lifting weights and techniques to lift boxes safely.
6. If I insist that I do the packing, what assistance can you offer?
At Trek, we are happy to give you advice on how to pack safely certain possessions and if it requires, we can send you packing materials for self packing.
7.How can I be assured of your professionalism and care of my goods?
Our removal crew will come to your place equipped with the right packing materials and tools to take care of your goods like sofa , TV , Mattress covers and blankets for the protection of your good in transit. Household goods will be nicely packed inside the van and then secure them inside with blankets and straps.
Plus , we all know that one’s goods are precious to the client this is why we do our clients removals as if we would be moving our own goods , because WE CARE!
8. Do you use agency staff?
Never! Our staff are all professionals who have undergone months training system pack boxes, lift boxes safely, stack the boxes correctly and load the vehicles properly. Most importantly, they know the value of what they do so you’d be assured that they will do their best to take care of your belongings.
9. How do you pack fragile items?
Depending on the items, we would use bubble wrap or tissue to wrap the goods before placing them inside the boxes. We have specialized covers that can protect glass, paintings, precious antiques and with our knowledge you can be assured that we will approach your packing in a bespoke way.
10. Are my items insured?
YES! We are a member of BAR (the British Association of Removers) and our insurance cover is in complete accordance with that industry standard, and is specified in our Terms and Conditions. We will need you to give a declaration of the value of your goods, prior to moving, and should you need to increase the standard value of cover, we are happy to arrange this and advise you of any additional insurance costs. When you do the packing, we will still be insured though the contents in the boxes will not be covered individually as we don’t know how safe the items in them were packed.
11. What happens to my possessions when they arrive at the destination?
Our crew will offload the items and place them on relevant rooms, reassembling the furniture where required.
12. What kind of cleaning service do you offer?
Yes we do! Our highly motivated cleaning team can be arranged to clean your new or old home. Choose the type of clean you require. We offer a STANDARD CLEAN or SUPER CLEAN service.
13. For office removals, how do you deal with properties that are difficult to access?
Depending on the access, we make sure we have the proper equipment to safely transport the goods to their destination like for example, we use an external elevator if the furniture cannot be taken inside through the interior.
14. Do you offer part loads removal?
We offer part load removals to delivery addresses are at big distance and are flexible on the delivery date. Goods will be kept in our safe storage until we make a full load and then delivered.
15. How long does it usually take to reach destinations mentioned on your web site?
Depending on the type of service, (part load or dedicated load) the goods can reach their destination from within a few days necessary for travelling/driving on the dedicated loads to 2 – 3 months on the part loads.
16. Do you also have express services for European removals?
Yes – this would be classified as dedicated removal service.
